Oral Storytelling for a Modern Era: an evening of storytelling around the fire with Jake Lewis

  • The Word Barn Meadow 66 Newfields Road Exeter, NH, 03833 USA (map)

EVENT PROTOCOL & FAQs

Join journeyman storyteller Jake Lewis for an evening of storytelling in the old way that is forever new.  With his improvisational style, Jake will take your imagination on a walkabout, where the Otherworld keeps poking up through the gauze of what we think we know.  Come and be captivated by two stories that speak to perennial human themes, and with a short reflection after each.

Bring a chair or blanket, and your appetite for marvels.

Appropriate for all ages, though there are some adult themes or violent images in these old stories.  Please contact Jake directly if you would like to bring young children.

ABOUT JAKE LEWIS

WEBSITE

Myths, tall tales, and epics have been a part of Jake Lewis' life since a young age.  Making sense of the world through old stories has always made sense to him.  Jake has guided people on transformative educational experiences for nearly 15 years, and combines that "dirt time" with a deep study of the human psyche, a playful spirit, and a reverence for participation.  He has studied with master storytellers Dr. Martin Shaw (School of Myth) and Stephen Jenkinson (Orphan Wisdom School).  With a background in professional theater and audio recordings, Jake's tellings bring an array of characters to life in deeply human, and more-than-human, ways.
